Curriculum Vitae

Nicholas Whitehurst

OBJECTIVE

To gain employment, as a teacher or assistant teacher.

PROFILE

I am an outgoing, confident person, who has returned to Finland after spending 3 years studying at University in England. I am at present studying an MA degree in Learning, Education and Technology at Oulu University. Eventually I want to work as a English teacher as well as becoming a published novelist. I have 3 years of experience working in a university cafeteria (in customer service and as a basic chef, barista, stocker, dishwasher) – with my last summer spent in a managerial role at the cafe. I also have extensive experience (3 years) of working with my school’s successful theatre company – which has taught me a great deal about the importance of team work, dependability and consistency. I was lucky enough to gain experience on the stage, working backstage and in theatre promotions. Also, I have worked till, burger bar and cooked (simultaneously at times) for KFC in Kendal whilst the store was understaffed. This shows that I have good knowledge of the demands of customer service, as well as the ability to work under stressful situations to ensure a satisfactory customer experience. I have also successfully completed work experience with Nokia in Finland, and I have engaged in volunteer work with various church youth groups (although I am atheist), volunteer work in an care home for OAP’s and have collected money for various church missions. I also have over 150 hours of volunteer work and activities (such as cleaning after events, organizing stocks, teaching and keeping track of payments) logged and confirmed by the International Baccalaureate Diploma program. I have basic French and Finnish skills. I am computer literate and am willing to work any hours.
